Whenever I see a plane in the air, I always wonder what great adventure the people inside are headed towards. I know there are many travelers that it is just a part of their work, or for you, it is your work. That is not nearly as glamerous, so I choose wonderful destinations for all of you.
I'm headed to San Juan for a cruise in two weeks and I am not a good flyer, but I am a good passenger. I keep my hysteria to myself.
I'm always a little freaked out when I see a plane "next to me" in the air. It always feels too close for comfort even though I know it's really far away. And, um, thanks for the tip on the ashtray :-) xo
I just had to laugh at the sock faux pas....I was once a F/A supervisor...and had to do silly "check rides"...and socks/hose were on the printed out check list I had to observe....you have taken me back to oh....1986, boy I AM old! smiles.
When I first saw the "short socks and shoe" pic, I thought it was a male pilot...why do people buy short socks anyway? A lot of men do this and it really does not look good. Sometimes they are cute, but only for small children. Really, there should be a law. Adults: NO short socks. Lazing around the house, maybe.
Ok from the comments I'm guessing the sock problem is they are too short. I'm clueless. I love to see other planes out the window. So often they are traveling in a direction that makes the combine speed very fast so they go by quickly.
You mentioned SFO - great landings there (your pic was at cruise right?) when the parallel runways are being used. It does seem like a race.
Haha that socks-picture is funny and I agree: definitely a big no no. Almost the same story as men wearing white sport socks with dark trousers and shoes (yeah that still happens!).
Great picture with the CO-plane (737-800 or 737-900; hard to figure that out!); that's the beauty of flying!
Was that really a flight attendant in those shoes? that WAS what your were pointing out correct? how come? They looked black and flat/healed enough to work in, no?
And on a flight from DFW to PHX it looked like we were racing a plane too! haha, i guess there were more than one runways to land at their!
1. You can eat a 4 course meal standing at the kitchen counter
2. You search for a button to flush the toilet 3. You look for the "crew line" at the grocery store. 4. You can pack for a 2 week trip to Europe in 1 roll-aboard 5. All of your pens have different hotel names on them 6. You NEVER unpack 7. You can recognize pilots by the backs of their heads-but not by their faces 8. You can tell from 70 yards away if a piece of luggage will fit in the overhead bin 9. You care about the local news in a city three states away 10. You can tie a neck scarf 36 ways 11. You know at least 25 uses for air sickness bags-none of which pertain to vomit 12. You understand and actually use the 24-hour clock 13. You own 2 sets of uniforms: fat and thin 14. You don't think in "months"-you think in "bid packs" 15. You always point with two fingers 16. You get a little too excited by certain types of ice 17. You stand at the front door and politely say "Buh-bye, thanks, have a nice day" when someone leaves your home 18. You can make a sentence using all of the following phrases: "At this time," "For your safety," "Feel free," and "As a reminder" 19. You know what's on the cover of the current issues of In Touch, Star, and People magazines 20. You stop and inspect every fire extinguisher you pass, just to make sure the "gauge is in the green" 21. Your thighs are covered in bruises from armrests and elbows 22. You wake up and have to look at the hotel stationery to figure out where you are 23. You refer to cities by their airport codes 24. You actually understand every item on this list
