Daytime TV

By The Flying Pinto

The Crew Lounge is hitting the morning shows to give tips on traveling smarter. Bobby Laurie and I have been working together to come up with ways to make airline travel less stressful for everyone…maybe even enjoyable!

We’ve developed our mission statement:

To bridge the communication gap between flight attendants and their passengers and therefore create a more pleasant inflight experience for everyone.

And, are currently using our combined talent and experience to write a book with lots of tips, tricks and insight into airline travel. If you are a frequent traveler or airline employee who would like to contribute please email us at [email protected]. Include your name as you would like it to appear and if you have a web site or blog you’d like mentioned include it also.

If you missed it here is our appearance on Sonoran Living:

Fed up flight attendants share traveling tips for a more pleasurable flying experience

You can also check out our appearance on Daytime Tv. We had an amazing experience there and even decided to create our own TV show. (more on that later) I know it airs Monday morning in Tampa at 10am on channel 8. It also airs in a hundred other cities so check your local listings!

Next is Cleveland on October 6th. We will be on Good Company Today. Maybe we’ll have time to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

And last but not least I will be appearing on an episode of “1000 Ways to Die.” I don’t know why yet and don’t know if I want to know why, but I’ll keep you posted!

Well – the one that we use a lot with travelling overseas with a younger child (he has done 2 trips overseas at the ages of 4 and 6) is – try to prepare outfits for a younger child and put them in individual zip lock bags as a set. The zip lock bags can be pressed down to get all the air out and they don't take up a lot of space. But, at least when you are starting a day, you can pick one zip lock bag out – and you have a complete outfit – underwear, shirt, pants and socks. We've used that on both overseas trips….

Sorry – was in a little bit of a rush when I wrote that earlier – that tip we have used for local travel as well – very easy to just have everything organized for trips.

For longer haul (overseas) travel, if you are going through an airport like Amsterdam or Zurich and you have some time on your hands and a little space in your overnight bag, these airports have showers that are inside the transit area (i.e. you don't have to pass through the immigration and customs areas so no visas required, etc). It is so refreshing coming off a long haul flight to have a shower and a change of clothes handy. If you are transiting to another long haul (as we were in Zurich – Miami-Zurich and then Zurich to Johannesburg and the return legs too), you feel a totally different person being able to get on the next flight refreshed and in some clean clothes.

If I think of anything else, I'll post again 🙂

  8. Awesome! Congrats. That's pretty exciting. I bet it feels good to get this recognition for your dedication to your work.
